Mixed throughout the text are interesting anecdotes from the author's experience in the bush, such as the Rhodesians' experiments with employing camouflaged horses to expedite tracking and patrolling ops. Useful illustrations and photos are frequently employed to the get the point across.
This detailed book comes from a former member of the British SAS and is an excellent stand alone reference on the subject. In comparison with David Scott-Donelan's book, both cover much of the same territory, with this text containing some information about tracking animals in addition to the tactical aspects. Quite a bit of material in the area of memory development and detail recognition. It also contains many good illustrations. If you really want to learn how to track, buy this along with Tactical Tracking Operations and read them both at the same time.
